Semantic Content of Fi
General characteristics of Fi ā emotional-ethical normativity, emotional-ethical classification of the environment, prevention of entropy growth through maintaining order in relationships.
KEY EVALUATIONS: good-bad (non-specific evaluation common to both ethical functions), decent-indecent (evaluation specific to Fi).
Fi also plays a leading role in COGNITIVE empathy (recognition of the emotional state of others, primarily through visual observation and without personal involvement in their emotions ā if involvement occurs, then due to Fe). In the profiles of marker questions on cognitive empathy, the strength of Fi is on average +1.82 compared to +1.22 for Fe.
Fi is characterized by emotional-ethical manipulations aimed at changing the behavior of others (but not their mood ā this is not the goal), as well as aimed at changing the structure of relationships and communication distances. For this purpose, Fi uses not only verbal remarks but also actively employs the game of looks and distances (both physical distances and emotional-relational distances ā from restrained praise to boycott).
For Fi, the visual channel is more important than the auditory channel (unlike Fe, where the opposite is true).
